The University of Jaén comprises seven Faculties and University Colleges, which deliver more that thirty-five degrees and diplomas to some 16,000 students, including 1,500 graduate and post graduate students. The graduate programs are offered on campus and on a delocalized basis.
Some of the goals of the University of Jaén are to promote the international mobility of students and faculty, to foster the learning of foreign languages and the knowledge of other cultures, and to facilitate the recognition of degrees from other institutions of the world and, especially, the European Union countries. Fully aware of the enormous benefits of the international academic mobility for our students, the University of Jaén takes part in diverse exchange programs with more than 125 European, North American, Latin American, North African and Asian universities.
The University of Jaén also works with other European universities in the creation of official joint and double undergraduate and graduate degrees in different areas. It also cooperates in the development of Latin American and North African countries through education and research projects and programs, and by delivering its doctoral programs in these countries on a non-profit basis. The University of Jaén currently has 200 doctoral students in diverse Latin American countries. It also hosts groups of foreign students from Europe, the United States and Canada in its Spring and Summer programs for foreign students. Currently, the University of Jaén is becoming the institution of choice for a number of students from China, Iran, Mexico, Morocco and Portugal, who are completing their full undergraduate or post graduate degrees here.
