Getting around glasgow

While walking is a great way to get around the city visitors should take advantage of the city's Subway to get to various points of interest quickly. There is a special Discovery Ticket that allows unlimited travel for one day (after 9:30 am Monday through Saturday and all day Sunday).

Discovery Ticket

When you purchase your Discovery ticket at any Subway booking office, you will be given a leaflet containing a full colour map of the Subway route, including street names and the locations of rail and bus stations, SPT travel centres and tourist information centres.

The map also shows the locations of over 70 visitor attractions, to help you plan your day of Discovery. Here is the list of attractions, in alphabetical order.

Subway booking offices are staffed at all times and all tickets are available at any Subway station. You can, however, purchase a single or return ticket from one of the automatic ticket machines at most stations.

Multi-journey tickets are also available from Hillhead and St Enoch travel centres.

10 and 20 multi-journey tickets can be used at any time of the day and there is no time limit in validity. Ticket barrier machines display journeys remaining on your ticket.

Season tickets can be used at any time of the day, give unlimited travel and are available on a 7 basis.

Subway Nightrider

Subway Nightrider is a new night bus that runs when the Subway closes for maintenance on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. We want to ensure that you have a safe journey home from your night out or late working without having to wait in long taxi queues.

How do I use it?
